Anna Feuchtwang, Chief Executive of the National Children's Bureau said:
'We welcome the Government's firm commitment to support and develop children's social work and to create a 'What Works Centre'. Robust evidence to improve practice is critical to ensuring the best outcomes for children who are in great need.
'We hope the Government builds on the vision it set out today for children's social work and sets out a clear future strategy for the care system that ensures all placements, including foster care, provide stability and therapeutic support for children.'
