NCB’s Research Ethics Advisory group (REAG) advises on research for NCB, ensuring that research carried out under the auspices of the organisation is appropriately governed, of a high quality and of a high ethical standard. Membership of REAG is made up of staff members from across NCB and representatives from other NGOs and academic institutions.
If you would like to know more about REAG, if you are interested in sitting on REAG as an advisor or if you would like to submit a proposal for endorsement by REAG then please get in touch with Dr Gayle Munro, Head of Research and Evidence at: gmunro@ncb.org.uk
The paperwork for submission to REAG is similar to that for a university Research Ethics Committee (REC) and feedback is usually received from the group within two weeks.
REAG have advised on a number of research projects to date, including questionnaire wording for young people with SEND, polling projects on bullying and sex education, involving peer researchers in research around academic stress and health-related research involving families with young children in Lambeth.
