Philippa’s work focuses on supporting a wide range of professionals to improve understanding and practice around working together to achieve positive outcomes for the disabled children and young people they support. She does this through developing and delivering workshops and resources which draw together policy and best practice.
Philippa joined NCB in 2017 as Participation Development Officer, initially focusing on the strategic participation of disabled children and young people. She then moved into NCB core participation, supporting and facilitating Young NCB, before taking on her current role. Her direct work with children, young people and parent carers remains at the forefront of her mind throughout her work.
Prior to joining NCB she co-ordinated a disabled children and young people’s participation group at the local authority level, as well as working in special and mainstream schools as a teaching assistant. She holds a Masters in Global Development and Education, with a focus on project management and childrens’ rights.
