Owen has been working in Finance since 2011 where he completed his training while working in Local Government within London. There he worked across many different areas of Finance within large organisations, learned how these different disciplines interact, and where he also qualified as a Charted Public Financial Accountant (CPFA). An interest in the charity industry brought him to NCB in 2017 when he joined as the Finance Business Partner.
Owen is extremely keen that Finance is an asset to an organisation, that it is seen as a resource to deliver its aims, and tries to embed this in all the work that he undertakes. This includes making financial information as accessible as possible for colleagues, constantly improving the efficiency of internal processes/tasks and encouraging colleagues to look at their finances in different (hopefully positive!) ways.
When not head down in spreadsheets of Pounds and Pence at work, Owen spends his time far away from numbers for a change: playing music in pubs, performing with his ceilidh band, acting on stage and writing plays.
